WELCOME TO OUR SITE
2015 marks the 800th Anniversary of St Mary’s Church, Barnes (stmarybarnes.org), which tradition says was consecrated by Archbishop Stephen Langton as he passed through the area on his way back to London from the sealing of Magna Carta at Runnymede in June 1215.
During such an historic year of celebration, the award-winning Barnes Community Players are delighted to be contributing to the festivities with a new production of Jesus Christ Superstar. This hit musical, written by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Barnes resident Sir Tim Rice, will be staged in the church itself from Tuesday 9th June to Saturday 13th June.
In an effort to make the show a truly community-wide event, the BCP have asked local writer/director Emma King-Farlow (Artistic Director of Shadow Road Productions shadowroad.com) to direct the production and auditions will be open to everyone aged 18 or over who would like to attend.
If you are interested in taking part in the show please come along to one of the introductory sessions on:
THURSDAY 22nd JANUARY – 7.00-9.30pm OR SATURDAY 24th JAN – 1.00-3.30pm
An introduction to the show. Come along to the church and meet the director and creative team on whichever date is more convenient for you. Hear the latest plans for the production and sign up to audition the next week.
Optional song-learning sessions:
SATURDAY 24th JAN – 4.00-8.00pm & TUESDAY 27th JAN – 7.00-9.30pm
Have you decided which part(s) you want to audition for? Would some pre-audition practice give you more confidence? If so, please join us!

You will be assigned an individual audition time on a particular
night and will NOT need to attend every one!
THURSDAY 5th FEB – 7.00pm-9.30pm & SATURDAY 7th FEB – 1.00-8.00pm
Any necessary overflow auditions or recalls (venue to be confirmed).
All of the above will be at St Mary’s Church unless clearly stated otherwise.
